Build an application system you can actually keep up with.
Organise your search, create a repeatable review process and make your next action obvious.
Create a single source of truth
Give every opportunity one record with a role title, company, original link, current stage and next action. Keep the original job description so you can refer back to the requirements if the listing changes.
Make the next action specific
Replace vague notes such as “follow up” with an action and a date. “Send a short follow-up on Friday” is easier to act on. Separate applications that are waiting on you from those waiting on someone else.
Use AI as a drafting assistant
You can use a draft to organise your own experience against the role requirements. Check every statement against your real work and remove unsupported claims. Avoid including sensitive personal information in tools you have not assessed.
Review your pipeline once a week
Look for missing next actions, stale records and opportunities that no longer fit. Archive intentionally. The aim is a system that helps you make decisions, rather than a longer list to maintain.
